VULNERABILITY SUMMARY

HPE Helion OpenStack has addressed stack based buffer overflows in glibc's implementation of getaddrinfo(). These vulnerabilities could be remotely exploited to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or allow execution of arbitrary code on the host with the permissions of a user running glibc library.

RESOLUTION

HPE has provided the following software update to resolve the vulnerability in HPE Helion OpenStack.

For HPE Helion OpenStack 1.1.1:

  • Helion OpenStack 1.1.1 customers should engage with HPE Helion Professional Services via existing support channels to assist with the upgrade.

For HPE Helion OpenStack 2.0.x the recommended update path is to download and upgrade to Helion OpenStack 2.1.2 or a subsequent later version. This can be done as follows:

  2. Follow these

    deployment steps to upgrade to 2.1.2
