Release Date: 2017-06-28

Last Updated: 2017-06-28

DESCRIPTION

When attempting an update by uploading any HPE Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) or a custom firmware bundle into any version of HPE OneView, the upload may fail. When this occurs, OneView will mark the uploaded custom SPP as invalid and display User Alerts (that can be cleared). This issue will occur if the uploaded custom SPP does not contain the Onboard Administrator (OA), Integrated Lights-Out (iLO), and Virtual Connect (VC) firmware components bundled in it.

SCOPE

Any ProLiant servers managed by any HPE OneView version when the uploaded custom Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) does not contain the OA, iLO, and VC firmware components bundled in it.

RESOLUTION

If the upload fails, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a customized Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) by opening the custom SPP portal:

    www.hpe.com/servers/spp/custom

  2. Select the "Bootable ISO File" flag. This is a required step.
  3. Select all Onboard Administrator (OA), Virtual Connect (VC), and Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) component check boxes that should be applied under "Devices."
All Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems must be selected if applicable.
  4. Select at least one ProLiant G7-series server, Gen8-series or Gen9-series server or server blade.
  5. Load the custom SPP onto the server or server blade when the ISO file is complete.
